General Dynamics has demonstrated a new American Abrams tank. The tank is still used as a demonstrator of advanced technologies and is a transitional link from the current Abrams tanks to the next generation tank. The prototype is equipped with a hybrid diesel-electric power unit, which allows you to move in silent mode for a short period of time. The crew of the Abrams X tank was reduced to three people, weight and fuel consumption decreased. The machine will be equipped with many sensors and an active protection complex, and the 120mm XM360 gun will also be improved.

AUSA Day 2 video dropped:

Humvee Saber Blade Edition.JPG

There's talk of more usage of drones and vehicles, switchblade drones being demonstrated, Humvee Saber Blade Edition shown. More armor protection on vehicles, using "more exotic metals" and surveillance systems to reduce the need for exposed windows. Mention of Arcas, Hornet Remote Weapon Station counter UAS system. This allows the vehicle it's attached to, to detect drones and their base station communication further. And detect drones closer with a 40mm cannon with an air burst effect to eliminate the threat.

Aerovarmint show their product line of small unmanned aircraft which apparently has operational use on the surface of Mars, in use of a helicopter that's currently flying over Mars today 2022. Also subsurface aircraft that are launched out of Submarines, ground robots, many types of different unmanned aircraft that fly near ground level to up into the stratosphere. Aerovarmint also dable in tactical missile systems but primary work in unmanned drones. Lots of talk of Ukraine and these systems having an interest in being used there in that particular battlefield.

The American company General Dynamics showed a promising Stryker X infantry fighting vehicle. The vehicle will replace the Stryker infantry fighting vehicle, which has been in service for more than 40 years. The BMP is equipped with all-round sensors and provides the crew with a 360-degree view around. The soldiers inside the Stryker X are protected by an integrated active protection system. The vehicle was created on the basis of the Swiss Piranha III armored vehicle and is equipped with a hybrid diesel-electric power unit. The BMP is positioned as a reconnaissance vehicle with the maximum possible silent movement. The manufacturer does not provide technical data.

The Stryker HAS NOT been in service for 40 years. It’s been in service for 20 years. It first entered US service in 2002 with original selection in 2000. It’s based on the Piranha iii which is 40 years old. More specifically a derivative of the Canadian LAV series But it’s been substantially redesigned such that the current Strykers only externally resembles the originals. Next only one version of Stryker is an IFV by classification of NATO treaty the vast majority of them are APCs. StrykerX lacks a medium caliber weapon it’s a
Demonstrator for the potential platform. If the Army chooses to adopt it then it would likely gain the 30mm gun system.
It’s an interesting technology demonstrator. It offers improved power management internal configuration that is nothing like the current model and better potential for a Hardkill APS.

It has more than that. First from the hull. GDLS removed two fuel cells that flank the drivers hole allowing for creating an armored crew compartment for three people. This is a recreation of the same configuration seen on the Abrams Tank Test Bed in the 1980s though substantially updated with modern sensors and controls. Which can be clearly seen in the sensor bar on the prow.
The Hybrid power pack based on the ACE system allowed them to keep the same range of about 270 miles. The tank also has a significantly lighter weight said to be about 54 tons. As such they used a lighter weight track. Presumably this is also why the side skirt has been cut back. Additionally it might have a Hydropneumatic suspension. Not sure on that but there were reports that the Army was looking at it for Abrams.
The bit everyone is interested in is of course the turret. It’s smaller than Previous Abrams save for the TTB. Like TTB it’s unmanned unlike TTB it actually has a space inside where a crew man could be if needed to fix things. Also it uses a Magget Cassette style automatic loader. So unlike TTB or Armata the ammunition is stowed in the bustle.
Currently the turret is more or less unarmored it might stop small arms but not much more. An actual production version would likely be armored. The only protection comes from three Trophy APS projectors. Two on the flanks and one pointed vertically to protect against top attack. The gun is a version of the XM360 originally developed for the XM1202 Mounted Combat System vehicle of the FCS system about 20 years ago. It can fire current US 120mm shells as well as higher pressure ones has the potential for an ETC upgrade and is half the weight of the current gun on Abrams. Next is a XM914 30mm gun it’s the M230LF in a RWS. Followed by Switchblade UAS positioned in the bustle rack.

The Switchblade drone has way too low of a payload to be useful. The larger Ghost drone might be better.
