Could you continue operation while missing one arrestor wire? I recall this happened on Admiral Kuznetsov and it caused a Mig-29 to run out of fuel while circling and waiting for the wire to be repaired, but would a broken wire immediately result in the carrier no longer fit for operation and have to return to port if the broken wire can't be fixed onboard?

If the F-35 fell into the sea and if a PLAN asset(s) was tagging along the carrier, what happens then?

Would the PLAN let the USN to salvage the aircraft uninterrupted?

Clearly you have a flawed history of WW2 the US fought in both fronts and supported the Soviets on a third. Germany was always stretched for resources and personal.
My point is that at this point in time, they are trying to open two fronts, against China and Russia when they clearly can't and are beyond their means hence why I'm comparing today's US to WW2 Germany, rather than WW2 US.

All of this while the US is getting ravaged again by the pandemic and poverty.

As is China and Russia. It’s not a nose sided world here.

Wires changed routinely every 100 traps. If only the wire is broken, it is a matter of minutes to replace it. Look at YouTube, there are a lot of videos showing the replacement of an arresting wire. If the arresting engine is out of order, the cross deck pendant will be removed.

Is it a new policy / camouflage for ships by the USA ?

I presume it is the "rust spot camouflage ".
