Okay, so it seems like the time limit on editing also applies even after you have pressed the edit button... Meaning if you decide to edit a post, and spend ten minutes writing up a long and detailed reply (because you don't want to post two consecutive replies), your edit will not go through if you click "apply changes" after the time limit.

And there doesn't appear to be a way where you can retrieve what you've written during your edit either...

Typically, you should use notepad or something of that nature when you are formulating a long reply. If you know it will take 10 or 15 minutes then I wouldn't sit there with edit button or reply button writing it up as over the years, I've lost countless amount of text like that so I use notepad/Notepad++ to write long threads/replies.

Everyone, please do let me know speed of forum in your part of the world. Is it loading okay? Any lag/slowness?

When responding, be as detailed as possible and tell your location or big city close to your location.

since you asked :) here the new SDF has been sluggish (and now I'm in this mall:
Please, Log in or Register to view URLs content!

where downloading a newspaper article takes like ... snapping my fingers maybe)
OK, by sluggish I mean I don't instantly get what I look at from time to time (which is Recent Activity under MEMBERS), but only after about ... three seconds, I now tried to find ... (and not many people are on; it says
Members Online:
10
Guests Online:
60
Robots Online:
13
Total Visitors:
83
but, hey, this is not a complaint :) Jura
and yeah, the old SDF was faster here (now I'm comparing to What's New or something Button back then)

Here in Germany everything's fine ... the only minor complaint is that I still can't post in the moderator's section !?

I don't think I've ever lost posts either through standard replies or edits, even before the autosave feature implemented on the previous iteration of SDF. I often run a few other windows and quite a few other tabs in the background, so flicking all the way to desktop just to open a separate program so I can write up a reply for a forum often isn't practical, or at least it's irritating enough that I might just not post an edit in the first place.

I don't mean to sound like a broken record, but is it possible to extend the editing functionality? Extend the time period from 20 minutes or however much, to something more reasonable, like 24 hours?
I think mods can edit posts by other members past the time limit, so is it possible to implement that for everyone?

If not, then thanks anyway.

Titles of new threads do not come in as they were typed. They revert to some syntax engine that is not allowing multiple capitol letters.

For example, if you type in

"USS Missouri, BB-63"

as the desired title, you end up getting the following:

"Uss Missouri, Bb-63"

Another example, which also shows the irritating nature of this problem would be as follows:

Typed in:

"F/A18-E/F Superhornet"

...you get (and you cannot edit it to fix it)"

"F/a-18/e/f Superhornet"

Can this be fixed?

Here Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Everything's fine but I experienced forum down quite often lately.
