What is crazy is that these cars have been used in urban warfare exercises and achieved massive kill rates against “blue” combatants.

That wouldn't be a good idea. Your typical wheeled excavator has a top speed of less than 10 mph and has very limited off-road capabilities, making it a very poor platform to mount weapons, even if you only need it for static defense. Far better to use Toyota pickups like the Islamic State did.
Good point. The wheels probably also make it worse to keep on target when firing. I'm more interested in the limbs though. Reminds me of a spider tank we see in Sci-fi.

The Chinese have looked into crawler concepts years ago, but I doubt they will graduate into prototype stage anytime soon, if ever. Making such mechanically complex platforms work reliably is a challenge. Even more problematic is their limited and niche application, which means they probably don't pass the cost–benefit analysis.
