Now when Russia is in this dark period of isolation, it is time for them to reflect on who really are their true friends. Only China and a handful of old friends are standing by Russia.

Some fools in Russia thought that India would be a better friend than China. Some Russian elites looked down upon Chinese governance, and Chinese culture. Some of these Russian elites had even supported some of the Western BS narratives against China like the Covid-19 Wuhan lab theory, and the Peng Shuai scandal. Some Russians in the MIC boasted about the superiority of Russian weapons used by India vs any Chinese weapons. Would they dare to be so smug right now?

Now the Russians have been declared a pariah people by large sections of the world, regardless of how rich or poor they are. Now they must learn to understand what the Chinese went through when they were labeled a 'virus people' since 2020.

During this time of isolation, no country has supported Russia the most other than China. China has spoken up and defended Russia the strongest during this period. Russia has to realize that China is not just a customer for Russian exports. China is like a family. Standing by Russia, even when Russia did things that are too difficult to defend. While India is like a friend for benefits, only giving lip service when times are hard. And Turkey is a snake, only making friends for favours, and then backstabbing when the opportunity arises.
A powerful post. Only in these testing times you see who are your real friends

I personally would like to see the relationship between Russia and China to eventually become similar to the relationship of France-Germany. We talk a lot about benefits but we have a bottom-line on what we will not do. Xi is showing restraint and doesn't push excessively. We need to continue like this in order to build deep political trust with Russia.

They must understand deep down that China will never simply abandon them to the wolves. They are family along with our brothers in Pakistan.

These relationships must be carefully nurtured and allowed to grow to become powerful bonds between our countries

These f**king Chinese imbeciles, saying they would “gladly take care of them”, referring to fleeing Ukrainian women. They bring shame to Chinese every where.

This is blowing out of proportion. A few comments on the web and all Chinese should be ashamed. It is just ridiculous and complete nonsense. Western media has nothing better to do and reporting such a irrelevant thing. China's social media is overrun by some feminists and self-righteousness. Next we know, Chinese could not speak because it is a crime to speak.

Individuals should be responsible for his or her own words. Condemned the individuals. Stopped condemning the whole society for such trivial thing. If China needed to be responsible for someone said something online, then it is the biggest joke in the world. Anyone who suggested that this brings shame to China or Chinese should really need to grow a spine.

reminds me of the WWII Eastern front

USSR had perfected the out flanking manoeuvre of encirclement

and here we have it again

Ukraine might want to start the break out soon to avoid getting cut off
According to @gelgoog , the area they have to traverse to retreat is basically flat and open and can easily be targeted by ground forces and air support. Retreat is extremely risky.

it's not going very smoothly because Russia hasn't gone all out and has not used its most advanced hardware. I mean they were using T-72s for christs sake. if china goes all out against Taiwan it should be over pretty fast. just take out the airforce and navy then you have all day to ferry across troops.

and you have the entire PLAN and S-400 providing air defense for the transports across the strait. no need to worry about anti ship missiles
Like those S-400 batteries that were flown into Syria with great fanfare? Or Syria's own S-300s? They may as well have been powered down as well for all the difference they made.

dont think they are interested in starting a world war if they used them and with consideration of what outdated S-200s can do to aircrafts with modern EW systems I wouldn't want to go figure that out as a pilot.

Hard to say. I know there was quite a bit of footage out there of Pantsir SAM systems being knocked out with the PGMs they were designed to kill. And GPS jammers being taken out with GPS guided munitions. On the other hand I recall an ancient Su-22 using flares to decoy AIM-9Xs. Not all battles go as the Call of Duty crowd would believe.

People are also overlooking the fact that the Pentagon's original estimate of a 48 hour Russian victory required a minimum of 50,000 Ukrainian civilians dead. But it had become super clear on Day 2 that Russia had not selected this bloody solution. This actually made the US media awkward, because they had to admit that the Russians are trying to avoid civilian casualties.

Lest we forget, Russia could have levelled Kiev on Day 2. There was nothing stopping it from sending in its Strategic Bomber Fleet. And despite some people claiming that would have been the "optimal" solution (those people need professional help and medication) what Russia has opted for is a methodical advance and not rushing to take and destroy cities, and this obviously takes longer. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, and I thank God Russia chose this option, rather than killing untold numbers of civilians. If Russia had started doing that, I would not be supporting Russia here.

Now, by Day 4, Russian forces have surrounded Kiev (the mayor confirmed this.) It's Northern supply lines have been secured. Their convoys are strolling in to their waypoints without even worrying about ambushes. Ukraine's Eastern and Southern flanks are collapsing, and the Ukrainian leadership has agreed to drop its preconditions and decided to come to the table... and yet people are still complaining that it's too "slow." Well this isn't a frekkin video game or a netflix show you can binge watch.
One of the most bizarre war and tactics i've ever seen... makes Russian military look like an a joke. I bet many ex-soviet states will become even more hostile.

Yes. It's bizarre to us but I suspect there may be more local support for Russian troops then is presented on social media. This would also explain how they are moving so slowly and carefully. Again, in line with what they initially stated. They are going hard on the main Ukrainian army on the eastern front though.

Unfortunately we have a lot of sjw type in China who likes to imitate sjw in the west, those are the type of people who likes to make big news out of trivial matters as if their life has no meanings except virtue signaling
