Agreed. RuAF is MIA and a complete joke.

Putin is just throwing lives now at a meat grinder.

If Zelensky keeps seeing videos like this, then Ukraine will never negotiate, cause they will feel like they might actually win.

I think we are forgetting one thing: combat air sorties are very, very, VERY expensive.

The Russians probably drank their own Kool-aid and thought that they gained air superiority on the first day with their blitzreig strike. Afterwards they tried to be cheap and thought that a ground based frontal assault was sufficient to achieve their goals.

I once remember the answer from a Russian general when asked about drones. He said "Why would we need drones, we got plenty of warplanes!"

People here seem to not understand the seriousness of the situation, the Russians have taken like 20% of the Ukrainian territory with just 40k men, they are not even using the whole army. Why? i don't know? to scare the population into escaping so the can launch a massive attack over the country while avoiding massive casualities that will make Russia look bad? Maybe.
I think the rest are in reserves for 2 reasons.
1. In case of a NATO intervention.
2. To open a new front near the Polish border.
Either way, I agree. Russia is definitely winning. Though the cost of such a victory is quite high, which is exactly why Russia can negotiate. If Russia can still secure a buffer zone, why bother sending thousands of men into brutal sieges?

If only they actually used those warplanes...

Given that even the ground vehicles are running out of fuel I think it is safe to say that their logistics aren't the best. I think Putin expected a quick Crimea style victory. What he forgot is that there is popular support for Russians in eastern Ukraine. Not so much in the rest of the country.

It would take decades of 1000 billion to make a dent of modernization of German military. Not sure if German is serious about it. As for cutting energy reliance, it would be difficult unless coal and nuclear could be considered.
