Russian ego will never allow that to happen.
True. They will rather even buy weapons(like the mistral LHDs) from the West than from China. Lol.
To be honest, I kinda understand them, since it's a bitter pill to swallow, when your former junior partner/follower is now bigger and more powerful than you, and you have to start depending on them , its hard to accept. Even more so in the military domain which was one of the only sectors left where Russia still had an advantage until recently. So it will be difficult even for Russians citizens to accept this, much less the government . However I belive they will have to swallow their pride and accept reality sonner or later, China will only grow stronger and advanced even faster giving her educational and scientific output which is still to come.

NavalNews article on HMS Prince of Wales:

For me the key passage was right at the end:

"Furthermore, HMS Prince of Wales has proven to be a highly capable warship, reflecting the strengths of a seafaring nation with a long naval tradition, enduring pride, and considerable maritime expertise. Yet even the once-mighty Royal Navy has not escaped the effects of defense budget cuts, which are clearly reflected in the ship’s current equipment. The carrier currently relies primarily on three Phalanx CIWS and several heavy machine guns for close-in defense. It lacks dedicated decoy-launching systems (apart from those used for anti-submarine warfare) and advanced electronic warfare suite. Notably, although provisions exist for up to four 30mm DS30M Mk2 remote weapon systems, none have yet been installed. Whether the ship’s equipment will be upgraded in the coming years remains uncertain."

Substantially less defensive armament than 051 Sichuan. Still trying to be a major power on a shoestring budget.

Well, lets not roll and dump weapons instead:

People argue that we dont see combat load lifting up from carrier... They will not do it a lot with F-35b. We talk about a 7000lbs payload difference between short rolling and vertical landing.
Again, this is what happens when you try to get superpower weapons systems on the cheap!

Guess what? Big deck carrier aviation isn't cheap - by any means - if you're going to do it properly. Either go big, or go home.
