Must have OTH anti-ship capability and a terrain-following precision maritime land attack capability.

now noticed the tweet (I noticed the tweet, I might comment later, if that winner got confirmed; from what I recall though, all contenders were farcical anyway, as the budget is like a third (?) of what an armed, modern frigate would cost)

when I'm in the mood I sometimes look at chest-thumping of fanbois for example
...
now this is isn't exactly chest-thumping, just something amazing:

a debater "Steve" says FFBNW and the response is (by "Ron":

"Steve, I’m not so sure that it will be that bad. I suspect that most of the weapons fit will come from decommissioned T23s. So that would mean the 4.5 inch gun, two 30mm guns, the Sea Ceptor VLS possibly the 2050 bow sonar, Artisan radar and the five sets of the new Anti ship missile that is being ordered. The 30mm could be also equipped with the LMM.
So possibly one set of new equipment would be needed unless there is some in reserve such as the 4.5 inch. Once that is done then as the second T31 is built the first decommissioned T23 would give up its equipment, get it refurbished and installed when the next T31 is in the fitting basin. ..."

etc., what a business plan!

Here it is:

Day 1 at DSEI 2019, the defense exhibition held in London, UK.
Our day 1 naval news coverage at the show includes:

=====================

Anti-ship missiles: The UK MoD issued a requirement to implement an interim surface to surface guided weapon (I-SSGW) to replace the existing Harpoon missile onboard Royal Navy ships. In this context we interviewed some exhibitors about their proposals.

0:42 - Raytheon Naval Strike Missile
2:12 - Saab RBS 15 Mk3 and Mk4
2:59 - MBDA future missile concepts and FCASW
3:55 - Lockheed Martin LRASM
5:06 - Roketsan ATMACA
5:30 - SubSea Craft Lifts Veil on VICTA-class Diver Delivery Unit

Tried my best...
Raytheon more than eager to talk... Saab a little less... MBDA nope (will offer Exocet eventough it doesnt fully answers the requirement but didn't want to talk on camera, and didn't to discuss FCASW on camera either), LRASM couldn't discuss anything in regards to the UK... And the Turkish missile not in the running. Boeing : nowhere to be seen

"Air Commodore Paul Godfrey (Royal Air Force), the head of Carrier Enabled Power Projection, said that F-35Bs could be armed with next-generation smart weapons such MBDA’s SPEAR Cap 3 (Selective Precision Effects At Range, Capability 3) standoff air-to-surface missile.

However, the aircraft’s advanced sensors and networked data links meant the pilot would not be limited to his own weapons payload, but could also, for instance, launch Aster anti-air missiles from the silo of a Type 45 destroyer."

as far as I know, the RN cancelled the CEC back in 2012 (

so how an F-35B pilot "could" "launch Aster anti-air missiles from the silo of a Type 45 destroyer"?
Air Commodore Paul Godfrey (Royal Air Force), the head of Carrier Enabled Power Projection, please, sir:
