I will say this RAF gets almost anything and everything while RN gets nothing by funding cuts
The Typhoon has cost billions and I mean billions C-17 to A-400 you name it they will get it but for RN it's cut cut cut very strange since UK is a maritime power being a island
And the Typhoon will really versatile only with Tr 3.
Right now RAF use 117 Typhoon on 160 ordered.
53 Tr 1, 64 Tr 2 are in service on a total of 67 ordered follow 40 Tr 3.
In 4 front line units, each get 13 fighter, one flight to Falklands, one OCU 13+ and a OEU with some Typhon. Very few "small" units for 117 fighters !
RAF planned created the last 5th front line Typhoon sqn in 2015 to Lossiemouth, 3th in this base.
Seems later Coningsby sqn's use Tr 3 and Lossiemouth sqn's , Tr 2.
Possible the first 53 Tr 1 removed.
Then if only 48 F-35B* are buy RAF get only 150 fighter !
* ordered between 48 to 138.

Some news updates just in
HMS illustrious has just entered into the dock tonight next to where the Queen Elizabeth is docked the illustrious will be there for the naming ceremony
Also there's going to be mock up of the F35B on the deck
Plus there will be fly past of two F35B and someone has just told me two x F35B have arrived at Leuchars Air Force base late tonight
This is going to be big very big! We can expect all the bells and whistles of a Las Vegas jackpot!!

Notice that the J-35B mockup has been oriented on the ski-jump like it is taking off. Also, see the HMS Illustrious docked there right next to the Queen Elizabeth.
Tomorrow is going to be a very eventful day for the UK.
