They sold Tiktok shares and a licensed copy of their algorithm. That is backing out. You can engage in denial and bar-lowering all you want, like "They still retain this or that". The fact is the consensus around this subject was that China was going to hold firm and go as far as pulling TikTok out of the US market in order to protect their business and their reputation. They first pretended to stand firm and protect their companies, then they succumbed to American fear mongering, sold Tiktok shares to American lunatics, handed them over a licensed copy of their algorithm, then tried to make it look like they never made concessions. They had such an incredibly firm grip over the US youth and they decided to hand it over on a silver platter. Nobody in their right mind would give a chip like that up without the other side bringing an even more powerful chip to counter it. And the more annoying thing is we have to wait for Trump's social media posts to get details of these deals. The Chinese side remains silent and even if Trump says stupid shit, they never come forward to set the record straight, and that is what makes it all pathetic. It's almost like they are two sides of the same coin. One side says too much. The other says too little. Both cause confusion and frustration.
I don’t really understand why you are getting so worked up over what is essentially hot gas coming out of an orange ass.

There is no evidence that a deal has been done and there no point in even thinking about this. It’s not like Trump hasn’t done this before, constantly claiming something is a done deal when there is obviously nothing.

Remember what happened a few months ago when Trump was saying he talked with China and there was a deal? This feels exactly the same as that time. China is just not responding because there is no point in responding at all, and if you actually read between the lines the Chinese had actually responded by saying unilateral actions should not be taken.

If you respond in kind to Trump, then you start playing Trump’s game so why would China entertain him. The more he talk and drones on, the more embarrassing it will be when he caves and people realise there is nothing happening. Like why would you stop your opponent from digging a deeper hole?

Just forget about the whole deal thing until there actually is something of substance to either get upset or to celebrate and not just the US claiming victory when there is no evidence of anything actually taking place. Also for those in the US look into Oracle stocks.

Edit:
Just in case I want to share why I don’t think there is anything to the whole deal situation, 1, why the extension of 3 months to keep TikTok going, if as Trump has said it’s all done then there wouldn’t have been a need to extend the time. 2, if it’s a done deal why has the actual contract signing date not been set, in fact there hasn’t been any mention of this very essential step, since all the details have been worked out evidently by the US side constantly talking about the ‘details’ with special emphasis on the ‘new owners’.

China also has restrictions on foreign companies operating in certain industries and only allows foreign companies to setup JVs. This current tiktok deal is similar to a JV. With 50-50 profit sharing but certain controls for the locals.

I don't see this as a concession by China. Its US making a concession since they wanted a complete sale of tiktok to US companies, not this complex JV deal. Its US understanding that if they fully ban tiktok it will be bad for US itself while China is fully prepared to get tiktok banned.

It is US bowing down to China and becoming like China with setting up JVs. Infact, China would love if US allows Chinese companies to enter US market with JVs. I hope more Chinese companies enter US now with a JV deal like this. Imagine Huawei phones produced by a US JV being sold in US.

What's pathetic is you bitching about somebody else's company and business and getting blueballed by China's strong silent approach cus you're such a goldilocks princess with your "USA talks too much; China talks too little; I talk just right so I'm not pathetic." LOL

I mean should even be more worried that Trump started a trade war? Yeah he did try to damage China's economy but so did Biden, Bush and Obama. Pretty much every western leader have tried to destroy China and the thing that I don't understand is that Chinese officials keep pushing the idea that we are partners with the west when we clearly aren't because they're stabbing us in the back again and they will do it in the future.

Beijing should double down on a multipolar world that has no world police because the Rules based order is bullshit from the start. Like the US bombed Yugoslavia and illegally ripped Kosovo away from Serbia, and invaded Iraq illegally without any repricussions. Don't forget Trump threatened the Hague so it's obvious that the west are complete hypocrites and an ideal world should not be taken seriously.

But I just want to point out that Russia is also a hypocrite because at the same time as Kosovo they ripped Transistria from Moldova and South Ossetia and Abkhazia from Georgia while not recognizing Kosovo which is hypocritical. China has clean record compared to these both Russia and the west but China shouldn't be the world police after the US because at that point we would have learned nothing from the Century of Humiliation because we're inflicting it to other countries.
