It’s always easy to seat back and criticize what the ruling power does when you are not the one with the responsibility to do so. It’s like football spectators who often analyze and criticize any little mistake the players of the pitch make and some even act like they can even do better than the players. lol or opposition party who always criticises what the ruling party does and claim to have easy fix solutions to any issues the ruling party faces but when they get in power they find out that reality is different and they quickly get humble . lol.
so to claim Pax Americana has only been a bane for the world is just being biased or looking at things from a narrow perspective. I will say it has been fairly good in avoiding a much fractured world where many regional players would have engaged in even more bloody wars/conflict/arms race and nuclear proliferation without discussion from the US.
look no further than east Asia. Do you think things would have been peaceful without the US holding back South Korea and Japan from rearming and even developing nukes to counter balance North Korea and China herself ?
the thing is US PRESENCE is still beneficial to China even more so since China has no ambition or will to act like a regional or world policeman. So US filling that role helps in stabilizing the region.
Uh hell no. Pax Americana was enforced on the world and for a time, it was a working system, which is why you embrace it. You can only imagine a void of endless war without it but you cannot envision what the world could have been like with a better alternative: American rule done right. The most horrific and dysfunctional part about Pax Americana is the concept of peace through forceful intimidation at the expense of the party least willing to kiss American ass, since that kind of peace only pents up rage from mistreatment and will always fracture once the balance of the equation tilts. What the world needs is peace through justice. The only lasting peace is a peace where both sides feel that their issues were addressed, resolved, and the solution willingly accepted by both sides, and if that means that something has to be squared away by war first, then so be it. This is a world peace that does not need a global policeman, so the American one is never needed, never beneficial, and always just a troublemaker. China does not need or want such a self-appointed fake policeman at our door; only natural ass-kissers benefit from such a presense,
No, I disagree. N.Korea can be a threat to China.
For what reason? This is beyond ability; there needs to be motive. What could drive a North Korea to suicidally nuke China?
The fact that China was so against North Korea developing nukes to the point of agreeing and joining forces with the US to place sanctions on North Korea over nukes shows this clearly, since Chinese leaders recognize this point.
That was at a time when China needed to play along with American leadership for its own wolf-in-sheeps-clothing scheme.
plus N.Korea herself doesn’t trust China at all and they remain wary of China. The simple fact that N.Korea publicly declared her will and ambitions in developing nukes to dissuade the US and South Korea /Japan (that’s what they say publicly but it’s also secondarily to put China in guard) shows this . It means N.Korea has ZERO TRUST IN CHINA HELPING OR PROTECTING THEM.
North Korea is not a natural ass-kissing nation that likes to be dependent on anyone, even any ally. That is admirable and how it should be. You can shake anyone's hand but nobody is your daddy and you always stand with your own spine and 2 legs.
Else they won’t be so keen on doing that despite Chinas firm objections and sanctions
Publically; privately, we have no objections as they are a thorn in America's side.
. So it’s a difficult situation for China. To be honest N Korea is a burden for China and they basically hold China hostage, China is powerless against N Korea. Very little China can do to influence or change Pyongyang. \
Extremely stupid take. What does China want from North Korea? What does China want at all? Anything that stresses the US and takes the energy away from containing China is helpful, and a militaristic North Korea is just that. We don't need them to take orders from us to a tee; they are already doing what helps us in the big picture.
This is why I said Chinas policy on North Korea has been an abject failure to be honest , compared to the US on S Korea.
You mean China doesn't have troops in North Korea raping women and running locals over with tanks? Yeah, we don't do that. We can have actual allies instead of the chained up lapdogs that America has. China's policy is only a failure compared to America's policy in the sense that partnerships are failures compared to slavery.
