Could be last call for Hegseth.
I'm not sure if this time you'll call this Trump doing a Trump. After all Hegseth was one of those who was all in on this war and gave his "trust me bro" guarantee that it would be a cakewalk. Firing him is actually a sensible decision for any presidency. (as in, besides not putting someone like him in that position to start with)

I hope Hegseth had enough neurons for preparing for this scenario years ago and collected enough dirt about this administration to use it in case they were going to use him as a scapegoat.
