It is a crisis of faith in the neoliberal rule based disorder and it was facilitated by the series of spectacular PRC wins starting December 2024. At the end of the day soft power and propaganda does not matter as much as the pedo cannibals believe them to be precisely because the ground reality is not decided by who can push their agenda the hardest. Real power comes from innovation, industrial capacity, and quality of life, not how high your stock valuation is or how much your meme coins are worth. Dow Jones can hit 100,000 tomorrow and it wouldn’t matter if the U.S. wants to reshore semiconductor or refine rare earths.

The latest Epstein disclosures only helped add fuel to the fire. We are seeing a perfect storm of geopolitical headwinds that’s even more severe than what the Soviets faced during the waning days of the Cold War. Competition with China is no longer the primary concern — maintaining the legitimacy of the ruling class is.
I think a good way to look at soft power is it manifest through influencing people's decisions, whereas hard power manifest through the ability to make decision for others.

The collapse of American soft power will not directly lead to their overall collapse, fear can keep people in line so long as there is bread and circus, but losing soft power will effect people's choices, what product they buy, where they travel, what they invest in personally and professionally, what they study, and how much effort they put into everything they do. Globally it manifest when people choose a Chinese brand over and American brand, travel to China over travel to America, engage with Chinese businesses over the US, to buy Chinese USD bonds over T-bills.

Hard and soft power are interdependent and loss of soft power isn't a choice, it's a result of losing the hard power required to maintain it. Going all in on hard power is imperial self preservation instinct, like a body consuming itself when starving. America is like a person that has suffered a fatal dose of radiation, they're still alive, but their immune system has shut down and their cells have stopped dividing. They can still walk around for a while on what they have accumulated, but the death is already complete and it just takes a single traumatic hard power event to bring it down.

They say history doesn't repeat but rhymes. So I wonder how long this positivity towards China will continue before it becomes stale, or degrades back into biogotry.
As long as China keeps making advancements in basic science, technology, medicine, culture, art, infrastructure and military. People will keep admiring China and even more people will realize that they've been lied to or underestimated China's potential and that will cause a increase in China's soft power so the answer is basically as long as China keeps winning, people will keep looking up to China. Also the decline of the US is fatal and it's very unlikely that there's gonna be a real challenger to China in the near future.

In my opinion as long as China doesn't become imperialist and keeps making tangible improvement in other people livelihoods trough the Belts and Roads initiative and other projects, people will just naturally gravitate towards it.

They are effectively turning into feral ghouls… Never underestimate how long those things can keep ambling along and how much damage they can do.

Billionaire John Paulson is a loud Trump supporter, saying he agrees with Trump that offspring is bad for America. In 2024 he bought a brass instruments factory in Ohio, offshore much of it China, and will have it fully shut down by Jun 2026. It sounds like this was always the plan. Anything to the contrary was paying lip service to placate the UAW union, which all the affected workers are members of. Ultimately just 150 people will be laid off, and from what I could find the US still has a sizable brass instruments production industry so it doesn't really affect much.

Personally, none of this suprising on the slighted. Back in 2024 the United Steel Workers (USW) union only supported Trump. When United Auto Workers (UAW) supported Harris, a chunk of them broke off to endorse Trump. Fast-forward to 2026 and most small and specialist machinist shops are getting smashed, while the survivors are by buying up their dying rivals. Unsurprisingly the survivors never hire union workers.

With guys like this, who needs to spend so much money fighting America directly? Their own capitalists will sell them out to make the line go up!
