I think that it's less a matter of "unlikely" and more a matter of "cannot". The collapsing American bond yield curve tells us that institutional players and central banks simply don't have any confidence in the American dollar, so they can only prop it up for so long. Sooner or later, countries are going to have to start looking out for their own interests. The only exceptions I can think of to this are Philippines and Australia.
