Chairman Hu,

I think when people talk of the Cold War, they are talking of the balance of power that the Cold War showed. You lived under the Western Powers,Eastern Powers or neither. You have to remember that both the PRC and US governments will do what they feel is needed to further their own policies. My question to you since we are discussing the various shortcomings of our nations regarding past history is if you can point out situations where your government was lacking, or outright wrong. I have no problem saying what faults, mistakes or even bad policies my young nation has made since 1787. I am curious if there are any policies of the PRC that you disagree with. Any historical incidence since 1946 where you feel the PRC was wrong or ill-advised? I know here in America, we are taught to be critical of the government. If a person ALWAYS agrees with something then there is a problem. We have people here who ALWAYS or NEVER vote one way or another. While they have a right to vote anyway they see fit, it takes away from the quest for a better understand of various situations.

As far as the deal with America, I am perfectly willing to discuss history with anyone. As long as whoever that is has an open and fair mind, it would work. If we want to match up bad moves nation to nation that is also fine, people just have to know history, not half of it, a third of it or only the good parts.

every country got some kind of fault. for china since 1946, anyone remember 1989 tianmen square??? that was just plain dumb on the government's part. they should have spend more time on negotiations. and the great leap forward and cultural revolution pretty much set china back 50 years.

TianAnMen Square wasn't wholly the government's fault the protesters were wrong on some parts too. For example, they should have dispersed after the government told them multiple times to disperse. I'm damned sure they knew what were coming, considering the government's past actions, but they chose not to. The protesters also had some problems controlling their anger, when the troops were brought in, they weren't ordered to shoot. But the protesters were throwing molotov cocktails at their APC's. Also, you said they should've spent more time on negotiations, perhaps, but the protesters weren't just students, and they weren't just protesting for democracy. They had students, farmers, factory workers, etc. and they wanted different things. So it was difficult to know who to negotiate with and what to grant. The government had its faults too, but I'm sure you have been hearing so much about it that you have things to add to everything I say, so I'll just save my breath and don't even bother.

The Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution were really bad acts. The Great Leap Forward was based solely on communist ideology and not on a practical basis. The Cultural Revolution was wholly for the benefit of the state, and not for the people.

I feel betrayed right now. The US should have gotten the secrets then kill him! So it's like a few years afterwards, you tie him up by his neck and choke him and say he commited suicide. That's a good plan!

Ok, I'm sure you all here know about the Tokyo War Crimes Trials (1946-1948)? well, i jsut found this out and it's really shocking and quite mad....
If not here's a short version of it the most distrubing part!
Back in 1946, most japanese war criminals were tried for warcrimes, many were executed, but those were just the lower levels, until they ran across a man named Shiro Ishii, leader of 731. He was as guilty as himiler and hitler, but instead of execution, he was granted his freedom, and lived in the US, his bargain chip was bio-chem tech.
Okay Chinese part of this...
They were not represented in the trials, plus ishii murdered thousands if not hundred thousand of chinese!
heres my main quesion:
IF America, is said to be the defenders of good and freedom and humanity; how come they sold the CHINESE and KOREANS, for BIO-TECH weapons? Instead of giving him death, how come they gave him life? How come EVEN AMERICAN SOLDIER where barred by the government to not tesifty? Wouldn't that be denying them consituiontal rights and existance? I'm confuse i thought America is said to be the defenders of good and freedom and humanity?!?!
isn't this much worse than SADDAM did?

The US and Russians happily employed Nazi scientists and techs. You don't see the designers of the V-1 and V-2 rockets that rained down on London being put on trial. Instead they were brought over to the US and given jobs.

well, missle desingers are different. they dont actually control the missle and what it does, they most likely are forced to deign the weapon.
