ARABIAN GULF (Nov. 13, 2019) The coastal patrol ship USS Sirocco (PC 6) speeds alongside a crew aboard a ridged-hull inflatable boat in the Arabian Gulf to give security for another visit, board, search, and seizure operation in the Arabian Gulf. Sirocco is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
