SOUTH CHINA SEA (March 20, 2019) - Personnel Specialist 2nd Class Elida Villalobos, from Salem, Ore., heaves around line to Fleet Replenishment Oiler USNS Guadalupe (T-AO 200) during a replenishment-at-sea with U.S. 7th Fleet Flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19). Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy and, as 7th Fleet command ship, actively works to foster relationships with allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific Region. SANTA ROSA ISLAND, CALIF. (Mar. 15, 2019) Seabees from Underwater Construction Team 2 (UCT-2) and Sailors from Coastal Riverine Squadrons (CRS) 3 and 11 deploy divers at Santa Rosa Island, California in 34-foot patrol boats to perform hydrographic survey and pier damage assessment training in support of Exercise Pacific Blitz 2019 (PacBlitz19). This training is the first time UCT-2 has worked with CRS and tests their ability to map areas for small craft landing enabling continued support to Navy and Marine Corps operations. PacBlitz19 provides realistic, relevant training necessary for effective global crisis response and provides reassurance to U.S. regional partners and allies of enduring commitment to regional stability. TACLOBAN, Philippines (March 15, 2019) Lt. Sharon Hoff listens to a patient’s heartbeat as Philippine Army Capt. Glorife Saura from the Armed Forces of the Philippines Medical Corps records patient vital signs. Pacific Partnership participants and Tacloban City medical professionals worked together to provide medical and veterinary services throughout the day at Tigbao Diit Elementary School. Pacific Partnership, now in its 14th iteration, is the largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Pacific. Each year the mission team works collectively with host and partner nations to enhance regional interoperability and disaster response capabilities, increase security and stability in the region, and foster new and enduring friendships in the Indo-Pacific.
