Impressive ! then no handicap for a CVN available for combat missions as a land airbase and in more mobile.

Great invention, catapult with the front gear of the aircraft more fast and less much dangerous for personnal as with slings used before and again by Super Etendard, A-4 Brazilian also.

I remember that F-4 Phantoms used a sling also. I'm sure that Brazil uses slings on their Skyhawks..but who knows when was the last time their lone carrier went to sea. I don't..not in recent times . I'm almost sure of that.

This is the most recent article I could find on Sao Paulo A12;

F-35C completes second developmental testing exercises at sea. It was conducted aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenower, CVN-69.

The fly-by starting at 42 seconds is sweet. Night time exercises starting at 1:11.

Also, notice the appearance of the CatB (also known as the CatBird), a modified 737, at 1:40, which is the flying electronics/avionics library for the F-35. It is the aircraft that tests out every new technology element created for the F-35 before it can be installed on the actual F-35 aircraft.

Interesting that the CatB was shown, but it is the aircraft where they are testing all of the new electronics and avionics systems on the F-35.

It is a modified 737. The nose is actually identical to the nose of the F-35.

When speaking of it, the program manager said:

CATB Program said:
Pretty much everything you will find on an F-35 you will find in the CATB. We have EOTS, Electronic Warfare (EW) capabilities, Communication Navigation Identification (CNI), radar and laser tracking for targets. All of the antennas and components that are in the F-35 Lightning II are on CATB. Our job is to test all of that and make sure everything works seamlessly together.

It would be interesting to know what they were testing there.
