TACLOBAN, Republic of the Philippines (Nov. 16, 2014) Naval Aircrewman (Tactical Helicopter) 3rd Class Peter Olson, from Howell, N.J., removes supplies from an SH-60B Sea Hawk helicopter from the Scorpions of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light (HSL) 49, Detachment 6, assigned to the guided-missile cruiser USS Cowpens (CG 63), and gives them to Filipino citizens in support of Operation Damayan. VILLAMOR, Philippines - Philippine Air Force Airman 1st Class Herom Rabago, assigned to the 520th Air Base Wing, guides a MV-22B Osprey carrying supplies and personnel from Villamor Air Base, Manila, to areas affected by Typhoon Haiyan, Nov. 14. The U.S. and Philippine Armed Forces have transported more than 384,400 pounds of relief supplies and more than 1,735 displaced personnel. The militaries of the two nations have partnered and trained together for decades, which prepare both forces for the challenges associated with extreme circumstances.
