Re: Today's US Navy Hi-res Photos!

Nice pic. A US Army AH-64 Apache aboard ship for joint ops. Very nice to see...er, at sea. LOL!

I remember back in '91 when I flew from the Persian Gulf back to San Diego via Norfolk I sat next to an US Army helo pilot who had been deployed to the Gulf for some months.

The updated US Marine Cobra, the AH-1Z Viper is very nearly as potent as the Apache...and the new four-bladed and updated Huey's are just about as potent a the Army's Blackhawks in terms of fire power and speed too. With the America class bringing US Marine F-35Bs to the game, with the Ospreys, Vipers, etc. the Marines will have all the latest and best technology to support them.

Re: Today's US Navy Hi-res Photos!

These same two ships (along with the AOR) just arrived in Auckland this morning, apparently at least one of them will be open to the public during the weekend.
Looking forward to boarding them. I think Auckland has hosted 052s and 053H3s but no 054A. If anyone's interested in pics I'll post some of the collection I'll be sure to take (assuming I get on!)
