Being an ex-infantryman, I like the PLA's 35mm grenade launchers (range 650m light role, 1750m SF role). The size and weight of a glorified medium machine gun, drum-fed, and able to be mounted on a tripod for SF work. If this thing works properly, a few of these in a rifle company or even one attached to a rifle platoon could, combined with an equal number of medium machine-guns, make for an exceptional fire support base for minor infantry units.
