Things that really bother you

What upset me is people who keep their own driveway clean but dump garbage on others' driveway.

What upset me is people who don't take care to note their rubbish collection day of the week, and dump it in front of our sidewalk, sometimes after our collection time. Someone once dumped a huge mushroom in our garden wheelie bin, uprooted dirt and all, in a plastic bag! If I hadn't checked on the collection day it would likely have been caught up in the collecting truck machinery.

Buy a cheap video surveillance camera and throw it back to who it belongs. That's what I've done to people who have more garbage than their bin can hold and think they can dump the extra in other people's cans. I use to live across the street from a school and people would dump their furniture and bed mattresses across on the school side the street. One guy had a big pick up truck and the back was filled with mattresses stacked six feet high. He slowly drove up in the middle of the night, got out of his truck and tied a rope to a tree along the side walk. He got back into the truck and speed off and all the mattresses flew out from the back and landed all stacked in the street.

It is my experience in nearly twelve years in this forum that political discussion just brings out the worst in our fine well intentioned members.

Personally I'm sick of it. I am. Truly I am. Since the election of Pres. Trump the anti-US rhetoric has ratcheted up quite a bit in this forum. Out and out hatred in some cases disguised with a layer of sarcasm & wit.

I'm tried of it.

And I'm tired of people who think because I'm black I will miss FORMER Pres Obama. And people that make snide remarks to me concerning Pres Obama or Hillary....Please..I never voted for the man...and certainly not for Hillary.

People are constantly posting out and out lies about Obama. Simply because they do not agree with his liberal agenda or in many cases because he's a black man.

I do not agree with his policies. He's horrible for the US Military & US foriegn policy and his liberal agenda was never intended by the founders of the US. And I did not vote for him either time he ran for president.

That being stated read these falsehood posted on line about Pres. Obama.

Many are posted by those that just hate Pres. Obama for one reason or another.

As for myself....I strongly disagree with his political agenda. Most strongly.

He's not a man of God. He's a consummate liar. His decision making ability is abysmal. Hopefully through the upcoming midterm elections we can stymie his liberal agenda. That's where I stand.

This is my stand on Obama. I do not wish to discuss this. Please do not PM me on this subject.

Sounds like you should close that thread.

For me, on a SDF annoyance it's the What the Heck news thread. I started it as a light hearted thread intended more for news of the odd, and weird. As time as gone by it was become a political thread used for posts targeting policies of nations including the US Japan and anything else that people seem to want to grind an Ax about. It's gotten to the point where I am given up trying to drag it back to what it was intended to be and just looking for a way to ignore it.

There has been plenty of hateful anti-China/Chinese rhetoric which often goes unmoderated/uncensored until rhetoric is thrown back in the other direction, given the topics often anti-US or Japan.

Several prolific posters troll regularly with bigoted anti-China/Chinese comments, often with thinly veiled sarcasm and malice, facing no consequence other than other posters responding.

When it comes to Trump he is a controversial figure who does controversial things and likes to frame topics as the US or Republican, but really just his and his supporters', position disdainfully against everyone else. That this brings out strong feelings in people who have different opinions is no surprise.

Pan, my grip was targeted at what I felt was use of a lighter fare thread to become a hard news, oped thread because the moderators had closed the breaking news thread or it was felt that the thread was an excaptable place for political postings, when as intended it was not. And as the creator of that thread I would like to state that my aim was never what it became.
I pointed to the US and Japan as the most common subjects of such particularly in topics that have repeatedly been judged as inappropriate for other threats it is often that they pop up in that thread complete with posts and comments.

As for rhetoric.
Fact, this is a US hosted forum.
Fact, opinions will very and as a US hosted forum we have US members who will veiw the PRC with suspicion.

Fact, being skeptical of the Chinese communist party IE the Government of China does not nor should not necessarily represent racism, or anti Chinese sentiment. The party is not the people despite what they claim.

And the same holds true for Trump. He is a unknown quantity. He aspires to hope but has some doubious points, and the Obama administration conducted a number of political moves that ran hard counter to established bipartisan us policy and boilerplate. Overall however Trump has been in office for only 10 days. Simply put he has yet to even show just what kind of President he is. I did not vote for him, more did I vote for Clinton as I am skeptical of both. However I see and hear vehement if not venomous anti Trump rhetoric on a daily basis, the majority of the contents of which boarding on or beyond irrational.
