Footage of a Russian Lancet-51 kamikaze drone strike on a Ukrainian Caesar 155mm wheeled self-propelled howitzer. The Caesar is mounted on a Tatra T815 chassis. Denmark ordered these self-propelled howitzers from France in 2017. The Caesars were delayed for a long time while defects were being corrected. Denmark subsequently transferred the Caesars to Ukraine. The Ukrainian Caesar was damaged as a result of the Lancet-51 drone strike. The video was filmed in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Recently there was a Geran hit on a Caesar, using one of those optically guided ones. Compared to a Lancet, being hit by a Geran would be catastrophic.

The Ceasar has very low usability judged from the design of the units.

Using complicated, high maintanance loading, and if any of the components of its Goldberg mechanism fail, the unit not usable until fixed .

Compare it to the Soviet deisgn .

these units been designed for low intensity war and for practice, not for real combat.

It would be yet another SPG takeout but because Macron claimed the Caesars would be 'elusive' for the Russians is why taking out a Caesar gets a special place.
