The War in the Ukraine

In fact all this itself is a humiliation itself for Russia to be honest. It shows they are far less capable than many imagined . If you had told me or anybody just 5 years ago that Russia will struggle to defeat Ukraine in a conventional war , I’m sure nobody will have believed . Don’t forget that even many reputed western military organizations constantly put Russia as the world second most capable/powerful military (ahead of even China ) after the US. lol

Anyway , I think both sides should sit down and make a deal. Neither side can achieve a decisive victory.
I'm skeptical this will happen any time soon. Russian elites and intellectuals are intensely prideful and have never given up on the ancient dream of empire and Slavic superiority so they'll endure a lot of humiliation and suffering to try and fruitlessly get at that dream. Mearsheimer and political realists lay blame on the US and NATO for messing around in Russia's sphere of influence but spheres of influence don't just naturally 'exist' - they're choices and Russia has chosen not to put old shit aside like all of the other Europeans have and just get along. They want to be the top dogs in their neighborhood again, which I get, but it's never going to happen because they're too old and too corrupt and so here we are.

Footage of precision strikes by the Russian 300mm Tornado-S MLRS, possibly the Sarma MLRS, on temporary deployment sites of Ukrainian units stationed in abandoned buildings. The videos were filmed in the Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv directions.

Footage of a Russian Kh-38 missile striking a temporary Ukrainian army base in the village of Lesnaya Stenka in the Kharkiv region. The building housed soldiers from the 77th Separate Airmobile Brigade of the Ukrainian Army. The attack was carried out by a Su-34 fighter-bomber. As a result of the Kh-38 missile strike, part of the building was destroyed.

Kh-38 are quite short ranged, maybe the latest loss of SU-34 is related. If they are using them more, Ukraine SAM depletion is becoming deeper.

Nah, drag it out. When the EU is exhausted and the US has piped down knowing that it is outmatched by China, Russia can unleash what it held in reserve for NATO unto Ukraine and win. If not, I think Xi can lend a hand. After all, Putin has lent us plenty.
You seem to be using emotions more than rational thinking. Im not even against either side to be honest, since i lnow both sides avtually jave genuine grevances. Im just making an observation. You should ask yourself why the CCP hasn't provided military support to Russia like North Korea and Iran have done. Then you will get your answer. China hss maintained her relations with russia just like before the war, which i think is a normal thing to do. Just like the gulf states, africa, India, Turkey etc. Theres no reason for them to sacrifice their relations with a country that has nornal or friendly ties with them just for the sake of another country. Moroever, for china Ukraine was actually a good partner as well(many weapons systems were sold to china by Ukraine, even some that Russia didn't want to share with China. Lol)

Anyway, I think people tend to project their wishes/biases alot to china(this also includes many western analyst not just you). One thing i admire about Chinese leaders is that they are probably the most rational and non ideological leaders in the world today to be honest. They look at things from a very rational perspective and how it can better serve chinas interests in the bigger sheme of things. So this often makes people(even some Chinese people themselves) confused as to why China doesnt adopt some policies some of them would have expected . Lol
In fact this is one reason i think the US is having such a difficult time handling china. China just doesnt adhere to any ideological/emotional template that most westerners and even those from global south might think. How do you even handle an opponent that refuses to even play the game you are hoping to play? Lol.

Thats one reason i have high regards for Chinese leadership since Deng xiaoping. They have been very sucessful in their foriegn policy. However, it seems to me that most people don't really understand how inredible the party has been since 1979 in handling major issues. I hope they continue having such leadership for more decades to come, will be good for China (as it has proven this past decades) and the world as well. However , i dont know how long this will last especially a few decades from now when the current generation of leadership who has grown in hardship and who know the consequences of erroneous leadership/ideology will be gone. So remains to be seen if the next generation who will take over the next few decades will have the same cold rational calculated thinking.

Coming from someone whom I've hardly ever seen rational thinking from.

The answer is:
1. It's better to bleed out the EU and US in this conflict rather than do a clean cut so they can cauterize and heal.
2. It's not time for the final showdown with the US yet. We are in overtake phase; for the final showdown, we should be well ahead. Fight to win, not because it feels right.
China hss maintained her relations with russia just like before the war, which i think is a normal thing to do.
The relationship has gotten much stronger, politically and economically.

Ukraine robbed China of a Motor Sich investment because the US told it to. We do no have good relations with Ukraine; maybe we did before it became pro-West but you are making the same emotional mistake Russia did, which is to mistake a zombie and feral animal as the brother it once was.

Indeed, Chinese leaders have done a remarkable job keeping our heads down while moving forward despite all provocations in the past decades to prevent the West from seeing China as an enemy before it was too late. But we are fast approaching the time when it is too late for them so perhaps it is fitting that the next generation of Chinese leader be more wolf warriors than the last.

Footage of a Russian drone strike on a Ukrainian locomotive. The video was filmed in Kherson. Strikes against locomotives hamper the Ukrainian army's logistics. It's worth noting that such attacks have been quite common.
