The image IMO checks out atleast in the sense that it isn't from a previous accident I've tried to reverse image search it on like 3 different searchers and there doesn't seem to be a match, so this picture is likely to be recent. But picture quality is garbage so can't be 100 percent sure on the authenticity of the pic
it's from the video of the strike in Nur Khan

Pakistan cannot play the same game as India they dont have the 80 billion military budget. They may have very good stuff but probably less of it. They need to save these highly valuable missiles for a true existential war. Right now its still India trying to save face after getting slapped. Pakistan is playing a smart approach. Defense is easier than offense when facing a much bigger opponent.

In a true war, Pakistan could be in a bad position due to lack of numbers.
Pakistan has China back-stopping everything from ammo to ISR to aircraft, including access to equipment far more advanced than J-10C and PL-15 if needed, while India is entirely on their own.

Honestly IMO from China's perspective getting India into a large scale proxy war that lets China destroy Indian economy, navy and airforce without directly getting involved is more preferable than a ceasefire.

Worst comes to worst China will step in. But that will require India physically putting boots on undisputed Pakistan soil.
I think china can supply Pakistan with over a million drones each month, at very lucrative loan terms. the moment full war goes, india will be cut off from china's supply chain, and watch how hard it would be for india to replace their losses.

While India have the number on large calibre weapons, pakistan can survive by making every advance extremely painful. pakistan have land connection to china, and it wont be hard for china to supply pakistan via land.

Wouldn't it be easy to securely erase non-volatile memory after the missile is launched and everything is loaded into DRAM? There's basically no chance a missile can be recovered with a powered on mission computer.

It's possible, but the system won't be that reliable since when something goes wrong, it goes into a reset and needs to get back to the non-volatile memory. It can, though, start the erase after the missile detects the end of mission without the warhead exploding.

Or they could legit just plant a small explosive charge in the electronics compartment that is set to blow after a certain amount of time after the missile is launched, it'll guarantee the electronics will be unrecoverable
