3 killed, 14 injured after India fired missiles at 5 locations in Pakistan

At least three civilians, including a child, were killed and 14 others injured early Wednesday after India fired missiles at five different locations in Pakistan, including Pakistan-controlled Kashmir, said the Pakistani military, the Xinhua News Agency reported on Wednesday.

The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has shot down another Indian fighter jet in response to overnight airstrikes, sources from the Pakistani military said on Wednesday, according to Xinhua.

This is the third Indian fighter jet that has been shot down in response to the overnight strikes, said the military sources.

"Pakistani forces are giving a befitting reply to Indian aggression," a military statement said, adding that all PAF aircraft involved in the operation had returned safely, Xinhua reported.

Eyewitnesses in Rawalpindi, a major city in Pakistan's eastern Punjab province, reported seeing a missile in the air, which was believed to have been launched from within Pakistani territory, according to Xinhua.

This isn’t confirmation but it would appear Pakistan is claiming something.

Pakistan is in a weaker position than before. The puppet regime propped by corrupt military establishment has no international support other than a lip service. I don’t see any benefit to any country for supporting Pakistan. I hope the embarrassment brings to the downfall of this rotted incompetent regime. To those, who say military is the backbone of Pakistan, need to stop and see the outcome of pandering to mikitary with medieval mindset. I just want to see the grimace in the face of Sharrifs, Zardari and Munir. And unless they have solid backing from China, India will always have more escalatory power with more diplomatic support and larger military power.

Also, I have seen the same footage being attributed to both IAF and PAF jet's deep in the Indian side of Kashmir. Whilst doctrines evolve over time, I would be surprised if the PAF would end up that far forward as any response would normally be at standoff range from the Pakistan side of the border.

Pakistan says 2 mosques targeted in India strikes

A Pakistani military spokesman told the broadcaster Geo that sites struck by India included two mosques.

Pakistan’s defence minister, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, told Geo that all sites targeted by India were civilian and not infrastructure of armed groups. He said India’s claim of targeting “camps of terrorists is false”.

India blamed Pakistan for violence in Indian-administered Kashmir last month, in which 26 men were killed, and had promised to
respond. Pakistan denied it had anything to do with the killings and said it had intelligence that India was planning to attack.
