J10C is the export variant, so china is holding back some of the top capabilities. just to show, there is more in reserve.
Something worth noting, the stated max range of PL15 is 150-250km? well doesn't really matter much. The indian crash sites are about 100km from the boarder. If PAF fired the missile and hit those IAF jets, this suggest those kills were achieved near the max engagement range. Usually max engagement range is head on, high altitude. A tail chase scenario usually means the effective range is about 1/3 or even less depend on the altitude. This suggest the IAF were flying high and clueless they were being shot at, or other wise, it would be pretty easy to escape the PL15 from the max engagement range. Usually protocol when you realized you were being shot at, especially as a fully loaded strike bomber, blind shot all your cruise missiles, drop the tanks and dump altitude.
It is much more expensive to lose both the pilot and the fighter, than losing all those cruise missile and fuel tank.
