Except Erieye listed detection range is only 450km, and they stayed 300km within Pakistani airspace during the engagement.

Erieye is not being celebrated because Erieye is not what gave PAF such impressive insight deep into Indian airspace. Not even the Swedish manufacturers are trying to claim that credit because they more than anyone will know their system cannot do what was achieved.

There has already been hints given at what and who could have provided that situational awareness. But concrete proof will obviously not be forthcoming.
Pakistan has a habit of not celebrating particular systems or aircraft so that doesn't say much at all, partially due to the insulated internal military culture but also because majority of the Pakistani audience is ignorant to this. So supporting aircraft almost never get the shine they deserve, even during the 2019 stand-off.

J-10C (like the F-16) is obviously a special case because of the significance attached to it but I am pretty certain the Erieyes played a significant role, there were also reports that Pakistan had earlier received upgraded versions of the ER version.

The ZDK-03s had been rumoured retired or in China receiving upgrades and overhaul a while back.

The last delivered AEW&C aircraft was an upgraded version, and it only arrived recently — around the same time as the J-10C deliveries. This may go beyond the data that is publicly available or easily accessible.

J8 will always have a special place in my heart. The plane i mistaken for an A-5 when i was a kid.
I really like J8 too. Something with the design really stick with me.

Seeing how the future of BVR are going towards, and J8 does have a rather large nose cone. It would be possible to modernize them into BVR missile trucks, with a better engine, and double up the hard points, they can carry 8 PL15 each. Sit back and toss those missiles into BVR.

Still bad use of resources J-8F's still use old inefficient turbojets and most of the fleet is at their end of life in terms of serviceability

If there is a war with US where existing stock of planes maybe shot down and old stocks need to be brought online, China might bring back these J-8 with better radar and ability to shoot pl-15 helped by awacs. Otherwise no point upgrading now
