Sometimes I wonder whether the supreme goal for Indian Military is to not make China looks good

FJ is an idiot, this guy was on Israeli payroll and kept schilling for them and was mostly anti-Pak and then suddenly most of his tweets became pro-PK. Rumour is that ISI updated his software in London recently (For those who dont know: Software update in PK is equivilant to having a sip of tea with MSS). He is slyly sliding in a remark on CN, because he is bitter.

Going by the French usage they should only ever be deployed against Muslims without active anti-air defences.

India got the Muslim part right, but missed the second part of the French usage? Perhaps this was omitted in the manuals?

Only one way to find out — send French mercenary pilots to show how it is really done.

Add Tom Cruise and obligatory F-14 cameo and you got the plot for Top Gun 3.

It seems like the post on Weibo from an ex-PLAAF officer was correct.

He mentions the Rafale was in the air for one minute before it got hit.

You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink. For many hardcore Bhakts the image of winning is way more important than winning. If physically consuming a turd specially crafted to look like a posh Danish truffle chocolate can cause other people to become jealous, they would surely do it.

Coincidentally one of the Indians who tweeted about “many jet losses, shot down over our territory” had his tweet deleted. Did anyone save a screencap?

An air force attacking ground targets vs an air force entirely focused on them. There will be some difference no matter how well planned. But by the same logic, PAF comprehensively failed to stop India from bombing the camps, which is what it was supposed to do.
This is the worst excuse I have ever read in this thread about the IAF's failure in planning and operations. I know you are trying to downplay the IAF's failure, but no self-respecting AF with modern tactics would plan a strike package without the presence of escort aircraft with air-to-air BVR capability, not even the Russians with all their incompetence do that.

That's a lot of strong statements.

Indian formation and initial aircraft composition suggests a surprise air-surface strike from stand-off range without entering Pakistan airspace. Strike groups definitely did not carry BVR missiles and I wouldn't be surprised that even CAP did not have them, this would be the reason why IAF had to scramble additional planes to the area. Unfortunately for them, it was too late, PAF was not obliged to wait. This would explain why there were no BVR launches from Indian side.

Bad planning on IAF side - definitely. Lack of AEW coverage - criminal. IAF rendered useless, India has no real air cover - be careful, Indians probably were thinking the same.
The IAF has shown itself to be so incompetent that even the suppliers may be more judicious in supplying advanced fighters to them.
