Supersonic Bomber/AWAC combo

I think the key for activation is very frequency dependent. Specific frequency +sequence will make each case unique , won't causing false triggering.

You can't just slap a radar onto an aircraft and fly it... it requires major testing, systems checks and debugging in order to get any new electronics to work on an aircraft. Interference from a variety of sources both known and unknown can cause a lot of headaches as they could interfere with other systems, including weapons. Furthermore, there needs to be testing in a variety of environments to ensure that all systems work as functioned.

I present you with case one of avionics modernization, where a complete suite of avionics on a well understood aircraft was heavily upgraded:

according back issue of kanwa, Russia did offer to sold retire and older model of backfire bomber to CHina, the money in turn will finance the development next generation of bomber.
But PLAAF official after inspecting the aircraft, claim high maintainance cost, second, a lot of spare part no longer in production, and have to be special order which will undoubly drive up the cost.
In the end the plan was abandone.

Since the russian is not making anymore of this plane, I don't see why they wouldn't share the design /w CHina or license produce.

China can improve upon this, granted it will have some work to integrate it own components and engines. It's speed resembles a fighter. It's size gives it the long range and ample of munitions. It's balance beam radar give it the AWAC ability, capable of detecting stealth maybe.. Adding BVR air-to air missile. No fighter planes can even get close to it.

This will give CHina a superior platform against some of the proacher countries in the South China Sea . It can subsitute for lacking of aircraft carrier for the time being.

Really I don't see what the Tu22 can do and a SU30MKK or the J11B can't, China should just make a modified J11B into a bomber like Su34.

USAF have plan to install side scanning AESA for F-22,this allow the aircraft 360 degree surveillance capability.sort like mini AWACS.

The block 30 Raptors (2008-11) will get this enhancement, increasing situational awareness a lot, but a don't think it'll get a full 360° coverage, but close to it.
I also once read about the idea of putting a radar array on the back/spine of a flanker to act as a tactical mini awacs. An interesting idea. Such an A/C could be a relly potant EW platfrom. But I don't think it would be well suited to take up the fight at the very front line itself. It could act from the back as a forward command post close to the fight and coordinating it. But a Backfire with AAMs and bombs and a big radar to perfrom all of these tasks at once, I think that's asking for too much.

Source please. I think this merely a rumor from a long time ago.

C'mon, you can't use F-22 as an AWACS. That would negate it's stealth.

Backfire is bigger than F-22 or any fighter plane, therefore easily can carry a bigger AWAC type of Radar. The Balance Beam underneath is just like a big missile, without sacrificing its aerodynamic too much.

^ I was talking about the F-22 "AWACS".

Your idea is even more silly. China does not need Backfires. Supersonic, high-flying bombers are obsolete. License manufacturing should be avoided if possible. Indigenous design and indigenous manufacture is the way to go.

H-6K. The "K" stands for "Aerial Combat Platform." It has a big honking radar. It has room for heavy duty electronics. I'll leave it to you to think about what it capabilities include.
