But China men basketball team outperform the women in the fiba asia cup.
They won it 16 times compared to 11 for the women.

I'm too lazy to check. My impression is that the Chinese Women's basketball team has a higher world ranking.
Current world ranking goes up and down. But historically china's men's basketball team outperform the women's.
Remember that at the time of "五连冠" (5 championships in a row), everybody in China in front the TV shouted 1, 2, 3 when the girls smashed the ball over the fence. What a time!!!
