The Poles claimed the K9's artillery piece was not good enough for their needs and that is why they made that abortion the Krab with a UK turret with Korean chassis. But now they seem to be ok getting the plain K9.

The K2 is a great tank but it is poorly suited for a country like Poland. It was designed for mountain warfare against North Korean tanks. Poland is flat like a pool table.

K2 is more than enough against T-72 and T-62 tanks what are it's most likely opponents if there is a conflict with Russia. Polish K2 isn't going against Abrams or Leopard 2.

The K2 would likely be facing the T-90M not some North Korean T-62 derivative. And that is assuming the T-14 won't be available before the K2 enters service in Poland in any decent numbers.

K2 would be facing no such thing as the Russian army is still bogged down in Ukraine.
It will take Atleast a decade for the Red Army to regain its prestige, and that’s assuming massive deep systemic reforms and purging. Stalin style purging.

24 K2 have arrived in Poland with 150 plus on the way based on last know numbers that’s more than the 20 of T14 in Russian inventory. By the Time T14 is available to equip a single regiment of the Red army at this rate the Poles will be deep into building K2PLs with about 700 M1A2 sep3, Leopard 2PL and K2. The Existing T90 fleet for Russia is 200/400 not considering losses to Ukraine and that’s optimistic.
Circumstantial evidence is Russian tank production is lagging behind,
Less than 3 weeks ago Dimitri Medvedev dressed like SS Major Toht (Raiders of the lost Ark) toured the UralVagonZavod tank plant. He came in like Darth Vader landing on the second Death Star. Threatening criminal prosecution to the management if They didn’t meet the Quota of delivery.

How do you say “The Emperor isn’t as forgiving as I am.” I’m Russian?

Basically T14, T15, Kurganets-25, Boomerang, the 57mm gun, SU57 are the wunderwaffen of Russia. Interesting ideas failed by a crumbling economy, industrial base ambitions beyond resources.

Was this shared here earlier? I found this in my archive. A slide from a South Korean-Australian meeting. It is about the KSS III submarine.
The submarine is planned to have both Li-Ion batteries and Fuel Cell AIP. FC + Li-Ion range seems to be around 4600 km at optimal cruise speed. The range on the battery seems to be 1500 km. Looking at the known common energy expenditures of subs and the specific energies of civilian underwater-rated battery packs, this translates to a battery weight of 400-550 tons which is in line with the KSS III's surface displacement of 3350 tons (what determines how much equipment you can fit in). I gave a wide range to account for the unknown cruise speed.

The 3100 km range on AIP also makes sense. German Type-214 has a surface displacement of 1700 tons and has a range of 2300 km at 4 knots. 10,000 nm cruise range on diesel is low for a sub of this size unless they took 10 knots as the cruise speed instead of 8 knots. The Type 214 has a range of 12000 nm at 8 knots after all.

Uh right. So you think the Polish weapons industry will produce significant numbers of K2PL tanks over the next years. So, pray tell me, how many Turkish Altay tanks have been built thus far? A similar tank program which is based on a K2 tank derivative. Which started like a decade ago. And you also clearly have not read much about the issues South Korea has been having producing the base K2 itself. Namely replacing the German engine and transmission with their own. Only a couple years back did they manage to replace the engine, and they claim to have replaced the transmission, but none of the 100% South Korean powerpack tanks have entered service yet. South Korea introduced the tank in 2008, and they have produced 260 tanks total, yet you seem to think they can outproduce Russia. Which exported 572 T-90SA tanks to Algeria alone... As for the Leopard 2PL it has been even more of a shit show with Germany consistently failing to deliver the upgrade packages to Poland in time.

Altay doesn’t matter, I have heard this line of it supposedly being based on K2 yet where? The engine maybe but as you pointed out they seem to change engine makers every year South Korean now, Ukrainian a year ago, German before that…
maybe the transmission? The Suspension. Come on seriously you have to know better here. The Altay is Turkey not looking for a license they wanted their own they wanted their own scratch clean sheet. As Turkey has been wishy washy on the currency and Erdogan has burned bridges with industrial states they have stalled this program.

K2Pl is a derivative of K2 and the Poles know how to build tanks after all half the Warsaw Pact drove Polish T72s which in retrospect don’t seem any worse than the Ural models.. hmmm.
Of course if you want to point out problems then Russia has a big one Chips. The Chips leaking through have been reported to have a very high failure rate with no signs of improvement.

Next I think you missed something I was being even harder on the Russian Army after all the industry delivered maybe 400 not 570 and that was during peacetime. Without restrictions and older configurations.
now factor in the Russian MIC has been kept alive via foreign cash infusions infusions that given the current events don’t look like they are going to be happening anywhere near as often driving Russia’s PPP out and of course NS1/2 cut means the Russian budget is significantly lower so money is going to be a big issue.
So yeah I think they South Korea and Poland will have the time to sort any issues; because even if Russia can sort its production, finance issues of the future.
The new tanks are basically lawn sculptures if your Soldiers strips them of wiring to sell for Scrap metal. Or you don’t have the proper ammunition to use because it was sold off, or just never made as the management pocketed the money, or Your troops have so little faith in their command that they abandon in serviceable condition. Or the Unit commander sells the Diesel and pockets the cash giving his superior a cut off course. Or if outside of the Regularly scheduled maneuvers the troops are not training, the fitness and training reports are forged well units end up under strength because a quarter of the unit are ghost soldiers.

Interesting development. If this happens, Japan will likely be next.

Yeah, no. Doing so is simply asking for trouble from China. Actually, forget China, the rest of Asia, and the US itself won't allow this to ever happen. SK living in a fantasy land like always. As for Japan, doing so would warrant China initiating war against them.
