PT PAL Unveils KSOT Autonomous Submarine Prototype for the First Time

The KSOT is said to be equipped with artificial intelligence, capable of a submerged endurance of up to 72 hours, a top speed of 20 knots, and controlled through direct radio or satellite links up to 200 miles away.

PT PAL also stated that the KSOT’s communication/control system could be integrated with command centres on Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) warships, naval bases, and headquarters, thus strengthening the Navy’s networked operations. An armed variant of the submarine is claimed to be capable of carrying several Black Shark torpedoes or Exocet missiles.

KSOT has been designed in three configurations: surveillance, one-way attack (OWA or kamikaze), and torpedo-armed variants.

Alongside the KSOT, PT PAL also displayed a truck-based Autonomous Submarine Command Centre (ASCC), designed to manage and coordinate KSOT’s missions from land.

The following is taken from another forum

Sometimes rumors if being circulate from right place or already quote by several source, can have something behind it. This is rumours that I heard from Finance Guys. Like I said before, I take more confidence from Finance guys then so call defence insiders. Defence insiders (not all of them) mostly equate as Salesman/Brokerage.
  • There are already circulate potential financial package deals, for financing:
    • Additional Rafale (batch 5) of contract for 8-18 more Rafale. Which option going to be taken depends on financing scheme.
    • China FI origin financing for 32-48 J-10C. If this being taken most likely additional MLU for F-16 will be drop, and the budget switch to add as part of this. So indication that if J-10C get through, F-16 will be phased out.
  • Talk with ROK still ongoing for IF-21 program. Including additional Investment in DI for IF-21 assembly hall. The number still 48-50, but Indonesia want to skip Blk 1 and directly goes to Blok 2. Blk 2 is more multipurpose then Air Defense in Blk 1

. If this deal fail to get through, more likely Dasault that can benefit for more Rafale.
  • Gen 5 option now come from KF-21 Blk3, KAAN, and J-35. Preference to KAAN can be changed if Turkiye can not provide way out to the engine/propulsion problem. From what I gather engine availability still condition precedence in the contract, for Indonesia to continue. China offer to J-35 depends on J-10C deal.
  • So far no much indication for F-15EX, even when Prabowo come to US recently no talk on F-15EX, but serious talk with Boeing for more commercial Airliners. Will be interesting if J-10C get through, will US got more deal to compensate ? Or Boeing Airliners and Blackhawk will be enough.
  • Additional A-400M still more likely then A-330 MRTT. Airbus still offer 2 MRTT option either using 2 A330-200 ex Garuda or 2 A330-800 Neo as base. Seems additional A-400M so far consider more likely option. All additional 2-4 A400M will have tankers capabilities as present 2.
All this just rumours that shown several lobby that happening for TNI-AU planes.
