Well there was a ranking of the worlds best places to live that just came out The top were: Norway, Australia, Iceland, Canada, Ireland, the Netherlands, Sweden, France, Switzerland and Japan. That's in order from 1-10, America was 13th, and China 92nd, China rose the most and Niger was last, not sure where Singapore was, but really have to visit the city state sometime.

Great place, just don't run a muck with Singaporean laws...they're very strict like no bubble gum unless for therapeutic value, littering can cost u $1000 and community service and etc.

I have lived in Singapore for 5 years and i have to admit that i like the efficiency of the city, but i got bored overtime for several reasons: Too small, limited job opportunity and growth, too reliant on its neighboring countries, weather is hot and humid 24/7.

Personally i like living in Vancouver, Canada better. Have lived there for 8 years. Its perfect place to enjoy live if you don't mind rain in the autumn and winter. One major drawback in Vancouver...Limited Job and Growth Opportunity. I can't stand looking at beggers feeding two dogs and drinking starbucks with a nice mountain and ocean view in front of them.

Lived in China now, very tricky and exciting place. I can't yet summarize what it is like to live here even after 6 years living in Shanghai. Too dynamic to summarize in a few sentences....

Wasn't there a saying for the city of Shanghai that when you blink and open your eyes back up 2 more skyscrapers will be standing.

hmm, it's not. Canada is. I can't imagine staying in any country with such strict laws and law enforcement. Vancouver is definitely a great city to stay in. It's perennially ranked up there for the climate, the low crime rate, good education system, living standards and public welfare.

vancouver is an excellent place to live, i was gonna be tasked there for olympic security in 2010 too bad that got cancelled.=S
but for younger ppl its better to go to the US or China where there is more opportunity.
