if she is convicted then she should die, this is not vengance and it's not justice its mercy. Rabid people like animals cannot be rehabilitated, her crime is so far behoynd the pale that she is truly lost. "Sorry can't live with ya see you at God's place'

In the words of Gandalf: "Many of those who are living deserves to die, and many those who are sended to their death deserves to live. Can you give it to them?"

My stance in death penalty is that the judge that gives it's is the one that should pull the trigger...

I don't support the death penalty, but for different reasons than many.

If some scum-sucking murderer, or traitor or anything like that is put away for life, it is much more satisfying. It's like putting a wild animal in a cage. It breaks his spirit and kills him on the inside. In that sense, I guess I find the Death Penalty somewhat humane in that respect. Though I suppouse that those who spent most of their lives in penetentaries find it much less torturous, it's still nothing like being on the outside I imagine. But then again, I can only do that, imagine.

So let her rot from the inside out in jail, I say. Rather than the outside in.

All my comments are IMHO, by the way.

I personally think that the most moral thing to do is to forgive even for a heinous crime, but obviously, that is not an option because of the nature of the people who have committed the crime and the circumstances-if you simply do not pusnish the crime, it will be committed again either by the criminal or someone else. Therefore, life imprisonment is the closest thing to forgiveness we can have for people like the woman this thread is about and increases the overall morality of our society. That is why I am against the death penalty. It is quite fuedal.

And if you are going to have the death penalty, it is hypocritical to have it be humane. The argument that the death penalty is a deterrant or is a sort of satisfying revenge is undermined by the fact that it is humane-these arguements would be more valid if you went all out and punished capital crimes with impalement.

From a Evolutionary point of view, she already punished herself (if it was indeed her child). Or perhaps, if the act made her more fit to raise other children, it was justified... :p

If you don't want to punish for the sake of revenge and want to rehabilitate the individual so he or she is fit to re-enter society, there's always laogai :D

Wasn't she depressed and forget to take her medicine? Depress people who don't take their medication should be punished.

Not going to talk about my stance on death penalty, but if you are going to put someone in jail for life, you are socially and economically wasting on him/her. He/she will die 1 day, let us all move on and put the agony behind.

Yeah, I belive that she should be executed. Anyone who would do something like that to their own baby deserves to be put to death.
