I just wanted to fix some past mistakes in my observations with the clearer photo. Red is the groove, yellow is what is clearly visible outlines, and on the weapons bay the yellow also is where there is a visible black seal like material similar to the the edges of the control surfaces, which points to a general weapons bay length. The orange bits are what I just made up to complete the yellow lines to form a better visual representation.

Also based on some more crude measurements my previous bay size estimates seem to be close. The main bay seems to be roughly 4.90m long and 1.45m wide. While the side bays seem to be ~4m long. This is if the aircraft is indeed 22m long. Any groove bay still can't be confirmed but with what we've seen so far, I'm still a firm believer the PL-17 isn't for this aircraft.I just wanted to fix some past mistakes in my observations with the clearer photo. Just a simple visualization. These are not small weapons bays by any means, it's just smaller than the J-36.Also based on some more crude measurements my previous bay size estimates seem to be close. I believe that could also be a possibility, except that is far too small for a PL-10 bay, so there could just not be a side bay which is a possibility I believe. Unless they shrink the PL-10 to 2m. This also connects some dots with whatever that thing is on the supposed door.Chinese community netizens speculate that the side is occupied by the landing gear storage compartment.View attachment 150211
Makes sense tbh, the J35 has similar MLG design and a service hatch in the same place as the red-marked region in this pic (incidentally the red region in the J-XDS picture is way too small as shown for it to be a side weapons bay). Since this J-XDS picture is also touched up by algorithm I wouldn’t be surprised if the “side weapons bay” is created by the algorithm by building on a hatch or the bulge or some blurry detail that’s on the side of the intake.Chinese community netizens speculate that the side is occupied by the landing gear storage compartment.View attachment 150211
That's what I was thinking as well haha. Shenyang shenanigans again.
