Why would the second pilot need a HUD instead of a traditional display if his view forward is blocked by the first pilot?
1: this is just a cgi, we don’t even know how many seats the prototype have.

2: some tandem twins seats do this (eurofighter is the example on the top of my head but Mirage F1 has something similar), it allows flight information to be easily accessible to the rear seat pilot in case he/she needs to take over control, and having these info shown using a hud (focused at infinitely far away) reduces the need for the pilot’s eyes to re-focus every time he/she switches between looking out and looking inside. Rafael has some thing similar as well with its central display. Additionally I think some more modern huds can display video feed so it can literally just show what the front hud/IR sensor sees to provide some front view for the rear pilot.

What's the point of hiding after it has been seen multiple times?
To, for example, prevent someone from taking a close-up photo of it while scaling the fences of SAC. This literally happened like 3 days ago with the J-36 (as well as with the J-35 back in 2022) so their caution is well warranted imo

Regarding the satellite thing, any info on the J-XDS is valuable at this point and if making a glorified shed on wheels can deny the adversary information like how it’s serviced, where the electricity and gas is plugged in, how many ground crew, how the cockpit opens, etc, then by their Shaokao and their local beer “Xuehua” they will see it done.
