Now that I've re-read it, there is neither mention nor indication that the loyal wingman UCAV will share similar (if not the same) airframe designs as their manned counterpart?

Until proven otherwise, I'd say that the J-XDS's manned fighter could/should be a separate and distinct aircraft design than their loyal wingman UCAVs.
You could be right. However, there are more benefits to have similar design.

So SAC build its own tea set. I wonder what‘s CAC’role in this? And what could CAC‘s second design be?CAC‘s own UCAV or something like SR72

Yes there are. The concept should be similar to how the Russians envisioned an unmanned variant of their WIP Su-75.

Either way, hopefully we'll see the manned component from Shenyang AC in the next couple days.

I don't quite know. The sudden news certainly introduced a lot of variables and uncertainties on how we should look at China's 6th-generation aerial combat systems.

Maybe Chengdu AC's loyal wingman UCAV could play somewhat if not largely different roles and missions than Shenyang AC's loyal wingman UCAV, and both also complementary roles to each other? But I suppose we'll have to wait and see.

SAC is cooking something. this time they are going to surprise the aviation world.

the bigger platform in this image looks big as a flanker and with TVC.
The conservative guess would be that the manned 6th gen is simply like a twin seater or crewed version of the CCA airframe.

I think even the CCA is flanker sized. If you scale it with the chasing aircraft there's not much size difference.

Also the news coming out are so insane that the large-ish unmanned flying wing just flew today(?) and people are already not talking about it.

I'd expect SAC and CAC to incorporate common communication protocols, a CAC master node should be able to control SAC CCAs so there might not be a need for them to build their own.

I wonder how much these fancy platforms will end up costing. I know that procurement costs are a big concern for the US NGAD program/s. Will China find it desirable to build these in large numbers, or will they be more of a surgical tool?

I believe common communication protocols is a must.
According to 草根‘s claim that SAC’s manned fighter is also for land and carrier,it wouldn‘t be too big.Maybe twin engine.
So it could be PLA feel it’s necessary to have something as large as CAC‘s jet to cover 2Island chain. But I have no idea how many is enough

Not sure about the concept of CCA on carrier. Unlike land base carrier has a limited size air wing. Wouldn't it be better to maximize combat efficiency of every single aircraft a.k.a put a pilot on them?
