Will they close down operation at the original site?


That's my question too ... a friend of mine (@foolsball) noted recently, "the original briefing on the new facility only mentioned that the civilian section would relocate here first, but it appears the military section will be moving over soon as well."

In fact I had a different theory regardless this briefing since also the old facility has seen some new builds and renovation, namely that the civil part will remain in the city at the old site and only the military sector will relocate to the new part.

the facilities that will be cooking J-50's soon, this images are from the first quarter of this year, why do you guys think they are considerably far from the city? geolocated them based on this plan submitted to the local administration:

A few reasons:
  1. More remote location help to reduce the number of prying eyes, so the eyes that're left can be better monitored.
  2. If anything goes wrong during flight testing, you'd want a lot of empty land so the pilot can focus on returning/ditching, instead of worrying about civilians on the ground.
