Nah, Indonesia won't buy J-31 / J-35. Right now, they just procure Rafale, and later on KF-21 Boromae. Indonesia doesn't has the gut to buy Flanker again, even when they thought that SU-27 and SU-30 were so good and fit to their need of Airforce. How can they procure J-31 / J-35 that come from US adversary? But even with that, they want to avoid to buy from US, too. So they choose to procure jet fighters from Europe instead.

I reacted to the argument that Indonesia cannot afford a 5th gen fighter. No (geo)politics involved.

Finland, Canada, Spain, and Australia didn't need a naval aircraft either. But somehow they selected the F-18 without substantial modifications.
For Canada, FA-18 was interesting because it bring the possibility of using the arresting cable in winter. Need to check these when landing in small planes at Bagotville base or you will continue on your belly if they are up.
