NTOW of 17.5 tons? That's as much as a baseline Su-27 with 1.5 tons of fuel. And the Fc-31 is powered by medium thrust engines...
For comparison, 24,500 kg is Su-27's loaded weight. J-10A's is 12,500 kg. They're all roughly comparable.
