To be honest it didn't even register with me what he was trying to say. It took me a little while to realize it was meant to be some kind of slight against China and/or... me? or my moderating decision, or my commentary? I'm still a little confused, it's rather incoherent.

Don't feel so bad, I'm sorry he dragged you into this, with his "Mods are unfair" etc.

His post was subtle and therefore tricked some of us in thinking it was an innocent post, and sometimes we missed the subtlety of that.

I supposed we should have our guards up once we saw it was Maint1234, because after all he had form, in fact I thought he was permanently banned by Deino a few months back??!

Not the first time the Chinese did something ridiculous just for the sake of image and publicity.

Of course, the irony is that this little secret will only serve to tarnish their reputation.

Whose reputation? Please specify, but I guess I know who you are aiming here. The CCP again! You really must let go of your hatred of CCP China.

It is funny, that everything goes wrong in China is lay at the door of someone higher up in the CCP, if not Xie himself! Whereas if this had happened, say to the BBC or CNN, it will be because some low ranking worker made a mistake!

We have seen this pattern happened so many times! From the bombing of Chinese embassy (old map due to some lowly functionary making mistakes) to the fatal crash of the Chinese high speed rail (this was attribute to problems of bribery etc. Right at the door step of premier
Wen!)

I don't know what your beef is with China, but whatever it is, its not healthy. And calling yourself sinosoldier is not fitting of you.

Beyonce once prerecorded her sound in Obama auguration, and that did not mean she couldn't sing "The Star Spangled Banner".

The troll's charge is not whether the capability is there but lying about the publicity of the event. The problem with his logic is that he assumes this was internationally advertised as some sort of "Look at us! FUCK YEAH WE'RE GREAT!" but it wasn't. It was one media channel using inappropriate english wording and literally no fanfare or advertising of this existed on any level outside that one video. So on this claim he fails. The Olympics lip syncing stunt however is a genuine blemish and an actual example of doing something silly for a bit of petty gain. The decision makers copped plenty of shit for that from people all over the world including China. A thought process not to be repeated for something so trivial.
