There has been worrying instability in several countries in the region...government collapse in Thailand and Nepal, protests in Indonesia, with the latter two resulting in lots of violence...

i don't want to venture too much into conspiracy, nor downplay/dismiss genuine problems and people suffering in those countries... but could all these events be connected/provoked eg. by the CIA somehow?

Plus look at the brazen Israeli strike in Qatar today... to me it feels like these events could all be related to a declining western empire dragging everyone down by spreading chaos and anarchy everywhere in its bid to maintain hegemony.

There's been a lot of positive news recently for the multipolar world and the rise of China with recent BRICs/SCO summits but I do fear there will be lots of obstacles and setbacks and dark times in the short to medium term before things truly improve.

For Nepal it's mostly India and not the CIA because they always wanted to make Nepal part of their Akhand Bharat.

announced on Tuesday that China, Russia and Mongolia had conducted their first ever joint border defence exercise, named “Border Defence Cooperation 2025”. sabotage activities in border areas”, the PLA said on social media. It is the first time that the border defence forces of the three countries have organised such a drill together.

According to the PLA, the joint exercise aimed to improve trilateral strategic coordination, strengthen capabilities against border security threats and deepen strategic trust. During the drills, a joint command post was established inside Chinese territory. The training included joint planning, reconnaissance, blockade, strike and handover exercises. Following the formal drills, the three sides also exchanged views on topics related to border management.

Is Nepal important to China strategically? Doesn't seem so to me.
Does it have resources that China needs or wants? Maybe, but can't think of any shining examples.
Also, the Nepalese elites are politically divided into 2 camps, one is pro-India, while the other is more China-friendly. It is difficult to deal with a country where there is no political stability because policies and agreements can flip-flop easily.
IMHO, I wish that country well, but I don't think Beijing should lose any sleep over this disturbance in Nepal. After all, it looks like a storm in a teacup, from Beijing's perspective.

I mean when you look at what happened. There was pictures and videos of supposed law makers and ruling party ministers family posing with luxury cars, making people resentful

Who knows if it was real or fake. Then when the govt wanted these social media companies to sign something to prevent fake news, there are very violent protests that's overthrow a democratically elected govt just like that ?

While it may not be completed instigated by a foreign force, but seems like it's more than just organic

I mean Oil was china friendly, thankfully Nepal is not vital to Chinese interests and separated by geography.

Time will tell if the next govt is just as friendly, hopefully so but how are these countries so easily toppled, even after being democratically elected

When you ban all social media after people expose naked corruption, people will get upset.
