Self Propelled Gun/Rocket Launcher

This must be the new self-propelled artillery system alluded to in earlier academic papers. It matches the illustrations in those papers. One of the papers (posted below) even studies the feasibility and requirements of mounting the turret on wheeled and amphibious platforms.

So what's the connection between the new artillery and the new *new* artillery? Is the 7 wheeled artillery a low end model or is this artillery a test vehicle only

Wouldn't it be better when the next iteration of the thread is posted to split the SPGs from the SP Rocket Launchers? Seems like too disparate topics to put in one thread.

Right. The MLRS with range of greater than 100 nm is far more important to the future plans of the PLAGF than any tube artillery. One is close to a theatre level weapon, and possibly the most impactful in the scenario where the GF is most likely to find itself in, of any weapon system that it owns. The other hardly would make any difference, until the final stages of the conflict.
