Fastening the hydraulic spades. Finally stopped digging the holes manually. I reckon the scenes before were simply retarded military propaganda lol.

Артиллерия готова! Выстрел!!!
World's best 155mm Wheel mounted canon-howitzer, one of its kind. Just admire that firing stability. Only shame is it still can't use the congruent charges introduced in 2016, or even full-auto reload is possible. Export version SH-15 is able to use it tho lol. A traditional Norinco feat of selling better stuff out.

My guess is that they did not dig any holes for the spades because it is a prepared position (looks to be dug out by machinery).

Besides being a hold-over from towed gun preparation procedure. The hole-digging is also an exercise in discipline. Gun commander needs to make sure the junior NCMs are putting in effort while getting into action. Half the time a gun crew is waiting for fire orders.

The spades should be able to automatically insert itself into the ground using hydraulics and lowering the hull, no holes need to be dug beforehand.

Good point. I agree with that. Tradition needs to be inherited.

Just to give another example.

My friend who was doing FO work, was always ticked off by one guy who was taking shortcuts.
The standard procedure to check where rounds landed is to do was using compass and manual calculation. Then to check the calculation, you would use laser rangefinder and GPS.
The lazy guy would always just use the laser/GPS and not bother with any of the manual work because "we always have this (Laser) anyway". My buddy hated that, lol.

Look like it carry ammunition on the side of the truck but not that many I guess need replenishing truck
Semi automatic munition loading good enough. automatic firing control

Not sure how much ammo you expect to carry. Almost all guns towed or SP will require separate resupply truck.

It’s nice that the cab is designed to carry the gun crew, better than towed gun riding in the back with ammo and stores.

In one of the previous photos, didn’t look like the crew cab had rifle racks though, seems strange.

How is is the propellant charge loaded/unloaded? I didn’t see any piles of charge bags lying around the position, not much ammo handling shown.

Also saw backup “iron sights”, wonder how often they practice using them.
