I'll give ONE more hint although this may be a dead giveaway.

It's not even part of the US military (though most members are ex SF operators)

Good guess Jura but nope. The requirements are so high, they are more restrictive than even running for POTUS. Your family has to be 3rd generation Americans meaning even Obama or Trump cannot run assuming they qualify in other areas. BOTH parents have to be native born.

Fyi trump's mother I believe was born in the UK.

Those are highly trained as well so very good guess Franklin.

The one that I was thinking off is actually a group of 'babysitters'. They don't do offensive, infiltration or even covert ops.

They are members of OST or office of secure transportation. They are 'civilians' and work for the dept. of energy.
These highly skilled operators are basically truck drivers and provide security and transportation of category 1 materials.
In other words they transport fissile materials including nukes from point to point.
Their weaponry include miniguns, anti armor and other exotic equipment.

I believe they are the most specialized and highly trained group of men out there. Much more so than delta, SEALs etc.

Don't know the person, but Google says the uniform was Aviation Working Green.
