Nice. Going back to the "Big One," World War II.

I believe thats a German STG-45(M) (Sturmgewehr) Assault Rifle by Mauser, 7.92×33mm.

In service in May 1945 with NAZI Germany in World War II, but only about 30 were built. The French attempted to mass produce a derivitive, called the CEAM Modèle 1950 in .30 caliber in the late 40s and around 1950. Also, the German, Heckler & Koch G3, was derived from it through the French rifle, which (the G3 and its derivitives) has been produced from the 1950s to the present time.

Okay, sorry to post the new picture so late, I didn't have internet access for the past few days.

So, let's see, let's go with another land system.

Just give me the name and the type of weapon will be sufficient.

ARGES anti-tank mine.

And for the sake of those reading, this launcher for the mine is left in place and camouflaged. The "mine" itself uses a derivative of the LAWS 80 motor with a range up to about 95 meters and the mine is highly programmable, with an "active" window between 3 hours and 45 days. It's autonomous, sensor-controlled, and destroys the target from the side with a tandem HEAT warhead. The acoustic sensor can make out close- and long-range targets, can 'hear around corners' and can be deployed in confined areas. A microprocessor calculates the distance, direction, speed and the length of the target vehicle. Once the acoustic sensor detects a suitable target, that sensor activates laser and infrared sensors for final designation and launch. It was developed in Europe by a consortium of companies, by Dynamit Nobel (Germany)/Honeywell (Germany)/GIAT (France)/Hunting (Great Britain). I believe it was first deployed in the early 2000s, but may be off on that.

Any takers? This has been up as a quiz question for some time now.

Device? Nationality? Manufacturer? System? Use/Application?

Good luck!
