Ok, I don't have a clue so I'm going to think out loud, tail looks like a messerscmidt, cockpit has that funky tuetonic look as well, U
S markings, fuse looks to narrow for cargo, maybe bomber or glider tow aircraft? or observation? Funky strips on leading edges?
1932-1944 period? taildragger?

Looks more like Junkers design to me actually. Maybe some variation of the JU 88? probably wrong though.

Kyushu Q1W Tokai, was a land-based anti-submarine patrol bomber aircraft developed for the Imperial Japanese Navy in World War II. The Allied reporting name was Lorna. Although similar in appearance to the German Junkers Ju 88 medium bomber, the Q1W was a much smaller aircraft with significantly different design details.

Yep you got it. As the Japanese war effort crumbled, Q1W1's were utilized in the role of Kamikaze suicide strikes against Allied naval vessels.
