Merry Christmas guys, just found this thread, now would somebody call school back in session, I thought I was fairly well informed till I popped on this one. Some of the X-planes bring back a lot of school boy memories, but their all cool. How bout some sub pix?

Actually this thread is supposed to be a recognition thread. Here are the rules as posted by gollevainen some years ago.. they still hold true..We do no do request.

Ok, our eigth thread since the foundation of the old one in the Ezboard days....(Due the too huge size of the previous ones)

Anyway, the rules are same as they have been:
1. The one that answers correct has the right to post the next quizz.
2. The quizz can be recognition pic of military (related) thing, but not post something else, like a question or similar.
3. The posting the quiz needs to follow the thread so he can annouce if the answers are right.
4. If you know the answer, please dont post any links to verify it, it will ruin the fun of the others.
5. If the poster of the quizz doesn't annouce the correct answer after it has been posted or otherwise the quizz lags or you simply dont have any quiz in your mind, Gollevainen as the grand referee has the right to post new quiz.
6. Try to not enter into deep conversations over the quizzes, so that the thread wouldnt go off topic. I will allow little moving base in this, but so far we have managed to work this pretty well.

I'm not into subs..but I'll post a pic so someone may ID it. This thread is open to all members..Guess it right and you win nothing but the opportunity to post the next quiz photo..

Well I'm guessing thats the Ronald Reagon at berth in the background, with some type of diesel/electric boat in dry dock, Euro prob, Greece? I told you I needed more education. The Brat

Lets say its a German type 209, and I'll stick with Greece as the operator, IDK, I hate it when my ignorance is showing. I believe they built some type 209 boats?

That is the USS Ronald Regan in the background but you have IDed the sub incorrectly..anyone have a clue??

Okay, thinking out loud, let say, type 212 with AIP, help me out somebody, did look like an F-14 on the Regan, or maybe Turkish 209. I'm sorry guys, I'm stuck with an analog brain in a digital world. Had a chance to go on a USN diesel electric boat on Okienocnoc, when I was five, was to afraid to cross the catwalk, the sailors were tossing a baseball on deck and it went over the side several times, but always on the dock side.
