Looks very chinook-ish for some reason to me.
Would kinda be fitting as Boeing is the lead on this and makes the Chinook.
I think it's the nose and fact it has two rotors.
Though I think the AVX FVL had more of a Chinook resemblance.
Looks ...

I'm gonna put my money on the Defiant, that rigid contra rotating rotor brings a lot of added speed and maneuverability, Bell's going to have their work cut out for them to match it in the low speed regime, like the my continuing motorcycle analogy, fighter aircraft analogy, its all about "mass centralization" with the Defiant you have a very stable center of lift at the center of gravity, rather than two centers of lift, far outboard of the center of gravity!happened to notice (unable to comment) this graphics now:
Defiant will have a lot of catching up to do. Valor has been flying for a year now and it's almost at full cruise speed.
Defiant is slower in progress and speed.
Both offer a lot though and the makers are pulling out all the stops to match each other in offerings.
Bell has been pitching naval configurations. Boeing is starting to to but also showed CGI of an Attack chopper version. Bell countered with a Stealth.
and that's the primary reason the Army hasn't been onboard with the Air Force and Marines with Osprey, it just won't do, some of the things they need it to do??
Little confused there bratNo doubt it does, but their maturity will at some point converge here in the next two years as Boeing is pushing more conventional technology with their contra rotating, central mast rotors, while Bell is working hard to allow their tilt rotor more "blade flapping" in order to get the maneuverability they will need to compete with Defiant
